USU Wildlife specialists say that to attract a greater diversity of bird life during wintertime feeding, consider using varied level platform feeders. Hopper or tube feeders will attract shrub and treetop eaters, such as finches and ground level feeders will attract sparrows. Suet feeders placed well off the ground will attract nuthatches and chickadees.
