Folklore Society of Utah to Meet in Logan
The Folklore Society of Utah holds its annual meeting Nov. 14-15 this year at Utah State University in Logan. Members of the society from throughout the state will attend the USU hosted event.
The conference includes a keynote lecture by Luisa Del Giudice titled “Sabato Rodia’s Towers in Watts (L.A.): Art, Migrations, Development.”
The keynote address is free and open to the public and is Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10:30 a.m. in the Eccles Conference Center (http://www.usu.edu/map/index.cfm?id=19), Room 303-305 on USU’s Logan campus.
Additional activities at the meeting include paper presentations by folklore students, discussion about the forthcoming book on Utah foodways, and a presentation on the joint American Folklore Society-USU oral history project “Collecting Memories.”
Randy Williams, the Fife Folklore Archives curator at USU, is a Folklore Society of Utah board member, and has facilitated the gathering at USU.
