Fall Brown Bag Presentation: "Utah Newspapers' Coverage of Domestic Violence Fatalities"

The Fall Brown Bag Presentation, featuring Cathy Bullock, will be held Nov. 19 from noon to 1 p.m. in the West Colony Room of the TSC. Bullock’s presentation, titled “Utah Newspapers’ Coverage of Domestic Violence Fatalities,” will examine one year's worth of coverage of domestic violence fatalities by Utah newspapers, using quantitative content analysis and frame analysis to look at how this social problem is portrayed. Results will be compared with those from her past work in Washington State, which indicated that newspapers tend to portray misconceptions about domestic violence.
