Enough Raking, Already!

Did this year's fall yield more leaves than usual? If so, was our wet spring to blame? USU forester Mike Kuhns says he hasn't noticed more leaves, and notes that a wet spring can't make buds opening that spring any larger or fuller. He says that most of a tree's annual growth depends on buds formed during the summer and fall preceding the spring.
