DNA Detectives
Trying to determine if a genetic basis exists for complex disorders such as autism is problematic. Analyzing from which parent an individual inherited a specific trait is not only costly and difficult, but traditionally involves typing the offspring and both parents, who may not be available. USU researchers are developing a new DNA typing technique that requires only one of the three subjects.
