Could Global Warming Bench Skiers?

Scientists fear global warming could shorten ski seasons, particularly for resorts at lower altitudes. This could deter development of new ski areas, says Utah State University professor Frederic H. Wagner. Shorter seasons could even force the closure of existing resorts, in areas where local economies rely solely on winter sports.
