Comments are Welcome During Accreditation Process
The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) will conduct a site visit on the campus of Utah State University, March 26-28, 2018. The purpose of this visit is to perform a comprehensive evaluation of the University. NWCCU reviews institutions on a seven-year accreditation cycle. Accreditation by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) represents the Commission's judgment that an institution is satisfactorily achieving its mission and educational purposes and that it meets or exceeds NWCCU standards of quality and effectiveness.
NWCCU is USU’s regional accrediting body. The Commission most recently reaffirmed the accreditation of the University in Fall 2013 on the basis of a Year Three Resources and Capacity evaluation. As part of the current evaluation for reaffirmation of accreditation, NWCCU requests comments regarding USU’s qualifications for accreditation.
Utah State University values information provided by students, employees, and others in determining whether the institution's performance is consistent with the NWCCU Standards of Accreditation, policies and procedures. For more details on these standards and procedures, please visit the NWCCU web site at: www.nwccu.org. As a general rule, third-party comments are usually general comments of a substantive nature.
This notice is an invitation to send comments directly to NWCCU. Comments are considered with regard to an institution’s qualification for candidacy or accreditation. All signed, written comments will be forwarded, as received, to the institution, the evaluation committee, and NWCCU.
Comments must be received by NWCCU by February 26, 2018. They should be sent to:
