Perkes is the featured speaker and presents “After the Theatre” Thursday, May 15, at the Logan Golf and Country Club (710 N. 1500 East).
HASS Hour puts a faculty member or administrator in the spotlight to share insights, research or creative activity. Faculty members are featured in a 10-minute “TimePiece.” HASS Hour begins with a social gathering at 5:15 p.m., and the TimePiece begins at approximately 6 p.m. Food, including hors d’oeuvres, is served during the social hour. Admission is $10 for individuals and $18 for couples.
Perkes was a long-time faculty member in USU’s Theatre Arts Department. His career included work as both a scenic and costume designer for the department, where he designed hundreds of productions. In the classroom he taught design courses as well as the general survey course Introduction to the Theatre. He served as department head, was a noted director and guided the expansion and renaming of the Caine Lyric Theatre. He now devotes his time to activities that include painting and writing.
