Childhood Cruelty Portends Violent Behavior

Do acts of cruelty toward animals during childhood signal the likelihood of criminal behavior in adulthood? Utah State University researcher Frank Ascione says yes. Ascione’s research reveals that 48 percent of rapists and 30 percent of pedophiles admit to acts of violence toward animals in their childhood or adolescence.
