Cheatgrass Cheats Us All

Cheatgrass is an introduced, invasive plant that's turned the American West into a tinderbox, says USU researcher Chris Call.  He and colleagues are investigating ways to reduce the wildfire hazard caused by the fast-growing annual grass and restore burned areas with native plants. Call says we pay a price for cheatgrass through increased costs for fire suppression and rehabilitation.
