Ceremony Opens Refurbished University Inn

Utah State University Stan Albrecht , joined by campus and community leaders cut the ribbon to the refurbished University Inn April 11 in a ceremony on campus. The ceremony marked the inn's 25 years of service and the completion of the remodeled hotel.

The ribbon cutting ceremony included Sandy Emile, Cache Chamber of Commerce president and chief executive officer, Representative Fred Hunsaker, and University Inn Manager Leila Neilson.

Day-long activities included tours, door prizes, special offers, refreshments and an opportunity to meet University Inn staff.

Michele Dunker, owner of the Medici Company, was awarded the University Inn renovation design bid. She is a graduate of Utah State 's interior design program.

Baily Construction was awarded the construction bid, with Allan Cardon as project manager.

In 1980, with a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, a Kellogg Life Span Learning Complex was built for Utah State University . The complex included the University Inn hotel, Eccles Conference Center and the Utah State Parking Terrace. The University Inn is located at the heart of campus and for 25 years has been Utah State 's host hotel for guests and visitors, as well as local, regional, state and national conferences.
