Celebrate the Arts with 'Artoberfest'
The Caine College of the Arts (CCA) at Utah State University, along with the USU Student Association, presents Artoberfest Saturday, Sept. 27, from 2-6:30 p.m. at the Performance Hall Promenade on USU’s Logan campus. The event features “Brats with the Boss,” a chalk art competition, free apple beer, face painting, free entertainment from the CCA students, artist vendors and more, all to celebrate the arts.
“Artoberfest is intended to be the closest replication of an Oktoberfest that can be held on campus, plus art,” said CCA student senator Samuel Wright. “The main idea behind Artoberfest is to create a family-friendly festival environment that allows student artists to display and sell their own work.”
Wright said one of the most popular events at the festival is expected to be “Brats with the Boss” at 4 p.m. Students are invited to eat bratwurst with Dean of the CCA, Craig Jessop. Brats are free for students and just $2 for the public.
“There is going to be free food for students,” said Wright. “What other reason do you need to come support your fellow students in the CCA?”
Any USU student is welcome to attend and participate in the Artoberfest events.
“I like fun, festival-like environments,” said Wright. “As the senator of the CCA I am also passionate about facilitating a forum for the exposure of their work to the campus and community.”
Artoberfest is free and open to the public.
