Campus Advisors Win National Awards

Two Utah State advisors received national recognition recently for making significant contributions to the improvement of academic advising.

Sylvia Robinson, a professional advisor in the Department of Elementary Education in the College of Education, was selected by the National Academic Advising Association to receive an Outstanding Advisor Certificate of Merit in the category of Academic Advising Primary Role as part of the 2003 Awards Program for Academic Advising.

Mary Jo Blahna, former advisor in the Department of Management and Human Resources and currently the associate director of the MBA Program in the College of Business, was selected to receive an Outstanding Advisor Certificate of Merit for Faculty Academic Advising.

They will receive their awards at the NACADA National Conference in Dallas, Texas, in October.

The National Academic Advising Association is a non-profit organization that promotes high-quality academic advising and the professional development of its members to ensure the educational development of students.
