Caine Chamber Ensembles Present Annual Concert
The Caine Chamber Ensembles are featured in concert at Utah State University Thursday, Nov. 17. The ensembles present their annual concert in the USU Performance Hall at 7:30 p.m.
“The Caine Chamber Ensembles include the music department’s finest wind and percussion students playing in small groups of quartets and quintets,” said Todd Fallis, USU music professor.
The music featured is specifically arranged for the brass quintet, woodwind quintet, sax quartet and percussion quartet. Styles range from Renaissance to contemporary and classical to jazz. The students audition for the groups at the beginning of the semester and are awarded scholarships provided by the Marie Eccles Caine Foundation-Russell Family.
“The Russell family realizes how important it is to provide training for music students and they donate generously to assist the young talented musicians with scholarship money,” said Fallis.
The Caine Chamber Ensembles will be joined by the USU Trombone Ensemble, Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble and the USU Horn Quartet.
“The concert will provide an evening of great musical and auditory variety with something for everyone to enjoy,” said Fallis.
