Cache Valley Choirfest to Feature a World Premiere
Composer Z. Randall Stroope is a special guest at the Cache Valley Choirfest April 30.
A world premiere and a giant youth choir will make up this year’s Cache Valley Choirfest.
On April 30, five Utah-based youth choirs will perform separately and then combine together to sing as the Cache Choirfest Mass Choir. The night will also feature Z. Randall Stroope, a renowned American composer, who will, for the first time, publicly premiere one of his newest works, titled “The Singer.”
Stroope who was commissioned by the Cache Children’s Choir to write the piece will be in Logan to rehearse and conduct “The Singer.” It will be sung by the Cache Valley Choirfest Mass Choir.
The festival begins at 4 p.m. April 30 at the Morgan Theatre of the Chase Fine Arts Center at Utah State University’s Logan campus. Tickets for Choirfest can be purchased from the Caine College of the Arts Box Office, which can be reached by telephone at (435) 797-8022 or online via the college’s website.
