Board of Trustees Has New Members

Three new members were welcomed to the Utah State University Board of Trustees during its regular meeting June 27.

New Board of Trustee members Randy Watts and David Cook being sworn inTwo new members, appointed earlier this month by Gov. Mike Leavitt, are Richard Shipley and David Cook. The third member, Randy Watts, assumed a two-year appointment by virtue of his election as president of the university's alumni association. Reappointed members are L.J. Godfrey and Brent Nyman. During this same meeting, Willis G. Candland, Barre G. Burgon and Dennis L. Sessions stepped down following expiration of their terms.

"We are saying goodbye to three outstanding individuals who have dedicated much time and effort to building Utah State University while, at the same time, welcoming three new members who bring to the table extraordinary business and national and community experience," said Utah State President Kermit L. Hall. "New perspectives are a healthy part of change. We appreciate those who have served and those who are committed to continuing in the service of Utah State."
