Board of Trustee Dinner Thanks Members

Members of Utah State University’s Board of Trustees who have left the board in the past year were honored at a dinner held at the President’s home. Honorees included Douglas Anderson, Lynnette Hansen and L.J. Godfrey. Anderson, now the dean in USU’s College of Business, served from July 2005 until April 2006. Hansen served from July 2002 to June 2006, and Godfrey’s impressive years of service ran from July 1999 to December 2005.

USU President Stan Albrecht and First Lady Joyce Albrecht hosted the dinner that was held in conjunction with the board’s annual workshop and meeting held the following day, Oct. 20.

 

Current trustees, spouses and members of USU’s Vice President’s council were invited to the dinner.

 

President Albrecht thanked the outgoing trustees, while noting their dedication to the Board of Trustees and Utah State University.

 

“I want to thank you all for your years of service,” President Albrecht said. “The university has been well served by your dedication and vision. Thank you.”

 

The Board of Trustees is the governing board of the university. Its functions and responsibilities are established from Utah statutes. Eight members of the board are appointed by the Utah governor for terms of four years. Two additional members include the president of the university’s Alumni Association and USU’s student body president. USU administrator Lee Burke serves as secretary to the board.
