B.J. Larsen Invited to Play in 2015 College Gridiron Showcase All-Star Game

Utah State's [University] B.J. Larsen has accepted an invitation to play in the College Gridiron Showcase All-Star Game at Maverick Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will kickoff at 12:30 p.m. (MT) Saturday Jan. 31, 2015.

Larsen, a 6-5, 275-pound senior defensive end from Logan, Utah (Logan HS) started all 14 games during his senior season and earned first-team all-Mountain West honors as he finished the year tied for first on the team with his 9.0 sacks, was third on the team with his 13.5 tackles for loss, and 10th on the team with his 37 tackles (22-solo, 15-assist). He was also fifth on the team with his four quarterback hurries, to go along with one pass breakup and one interception.

Overall, Larsen ranked tied for third in the Mountain West and tied for 39th in the nation in sacks (0.64 pg), and seventh in the conference in tackles for loss (0.96 pg).

Larsen's best game during his senior season was in a 36-24 win against Wake Forest (9/13) as he was named an honorable mention national defensive end of the week by College Football Performance Awards as he recorded a career-high 3.0 sacks as part of his four total tackles. During the year, Larsen added 2.0 sacks against UNLV (10/25) and had 1.0 sack in four other games, while posting at least 1.0 tackle for loss in eight games, including 2.0 tackles for loss four times. Overall, Larsen had a season-high six tackles against Idaho State (9/6) and recorded multiple tackles in 10 games during the year.

Larsen, who set the school record with 53 games played in, ends his career as part of the winningest senior class in Utah State history with 37 victories, as well as a member of the group of Aggies who have participated in four-straight bowl games and won three-straight bowl games, both of which are school records.
