Author Charles C. Mann Visiting Utah State University for NR Week

The S.J. & Jessie E. Quinney College of Natural Resources will host Charles C. Mann, renowned environmental historian and award-winning author, to present a lecture Thursday, April 4, at 4 p.m., in the new Life Sciences Building Auditorium (LSB 133), on his recent book, The Wizard and the Prophet: Two Remarkable Scientists and their Dueling Visions to Shape Tomorrow’s World.  The presentation is free and open to all. 

Mann writes for The New York Times, Smithsonian and Vanity Fair and received the National Academies Book Award for his book, 1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus. The Wizard and the Prophet refers to the competing theories of our future by examining the lives of Norman Borlaug, the wizard and father of the green revolution, and William Vogt, the prophet and early proponent of conservation biology.
