Apply Now for Utah Business Week

Utah Business Week, held July 30- Aug. 5 at Utah State University, is now seeking applications from interested high school students who will be juniors or seniors next year.

Students will be mentored by local and national business leaders. Business Week is built around a computer simulation students use to run their own imaginary businesses. In twice-daily company meetings, the students make business decisions. A computer crunches the numbers and provides results.

Participants will hear from the Utah Film Commission, FedEx, Coca-Cola and Pepsi, O.C. Tanner’s Scott Christopher, and authors Quinn McKay and Patrick Henry Hansen. Students will also tour Logan businesses like thrill-ride manufacturer S&S Power, exercise-equipment manufacturer ICON Health & Fitness and Gossner Foods.

Utah Business Week was created by Utah business leaders who looked at it as an investment in their future workforce. This year’s major sponsors are Workers Compensation Fund, Questar, Wells Fargo, Utah Power, Chase, the Eccles Foundation, Qwest, FedEx and Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Several other companies donate money, products and services to support the program. These companies pay $500 for each student’s tuition; the students pay $80.
