Another Save the Date: USU Opera Theatre presents 'Songs of Love and Loss'
The Utah State University Department of Music presents an opera-themed evening, “Songs of Love and Loss,” Nov. 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m.in room 214 in the Chase Fine Arts Center.
The evening features undergraduate students from the Caine College of the Arts performing their favorite scenes from opera and musical theater.
According to USU opera theatre instructor Dallas Heaton, the evening’s theme is drawn from the operatic and musical theater repertoires that examine the relationships of the major characters. Also, a focus of the classroom activity for the students is on ensemble scenes.
Selections from opera and musicals by Mozart, Berenstein, Bizet, Corigliano and more will be performed. The students will present a different program each night.
Both performances of “Songs of Love and Loss” are free and open to the public.
