Amplified Amphibian

USU researcher Karen Beard is investigating the ecological impact of the coqui frog in Hawai'i. The tiny Puerto Rican transplant, which has spread rapidly throughout the islands, has a mating call that exceeds acceptable noise levels. Beard says further study is needed to determine the potential effects of the prolific amphibian on native wildlife.
