AGGIES CONTINUE LEAGUE PLAY AT COLORADO STATE
• Utah State plays its first Mountain West road game of the season at Colorado State Saturday, Oct. 18, at 5 p.m., in a game that will be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network.
• Utah State has won 11 straight conference road games, including four in a row in the Mountain West, with its last league road loss coming at Fresno State, 31-21, on Oct. 15, 2011, when both teams were members of the WAC. The previous school record for consecutive league road wins was six from 1995-97 in the Big West.
• Utah State has won six straight Mountain West games and 19 of its last 20 league games dating back to 2011. USU won a school record 13 straight conference games before falling at home to Boise State, 34-23, on Oct. 12, 2013. All-time, USU is 8-1 (.889) in Mountain West play.
• Utah State has won 12 of its last 20 road games dating back to 2012, and is 5-5 in road games under current head coach Matt Wells, including a perfect 4-0 Mountain West road record.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR SATURDAY
• Utah State has won 29 of its last 39 games and those 10 losses have been by a combined 86 points (8.6 ppg). Those 29 wins are the third-most in the West behind Oregon (33) and Stanford (30).
• Utah State’s defense has forced 19 turnovers in its last five games, intercepted 28 passes in its last 16 games, and recorded a total of 66 turnovers in its last 29 games. USU has also scored three defensive touchdowns this season and six defensive touchdowns in its last 14 games. Overall, USU's 19 forced turnovers rank second in the nation behind Florida International (24).
• Senior LB Zach Vigil ranks first in the Mountain West and tied for seventh in the nation in tackles for loss (1.67 pg), and second in the MW and tied for 15th in the nation in tackles (10.7 pg), while his brother, sophomore LB Nick Vigil ranks tied for second in the MW and tied for 22nd in the nation in fumbles forced (0.33 pg), third in the MW and tied for 28th in the nation in tackles (10.0 pg), and tied for sixth in the MW in tackles for loss (1.1 pg).
• Utah State has won seven of its last 12 games played during the month of October, including each of its last three, and is 6-8-0 all-time in known games played on Oct. 18.
