AGGIES OPEN 2015 SEASON AT HOME
• Utah State (0-0) will open the 2015 season at home for just the 13th time since 1959 as it hosts Southern Utah (0-0) Thursday, Sept. 3, at 7:05 p.m. The last time USU began the season at home was in 2012 when it also hosted SUU, winning 34-3. Overall, USU is 78-17-6 (.802) all-time against current members of the Big Sky Conference.
• Utah State has won nine-straight home games, which is tied with the 1910-12, 1934-36 and 2012-13 teams for the fifth-longest home winning streak in school history. Overall, USU has won 18 of its last 20 home games and 11 of its last 13 home games against non-conference competition dating back to 2009.
• Under head coach Matt Wells, USU is 10-2 at home, including a 3-1 non-conference record. All-time, USU is 130-98 in Maverik Stadium and its lost home loss was against BYU (31-14) on Oct. 4, 2013.
• Utah State is 37-14-1 (.721) all-time at home in season openers.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR THURSDAY
• Utah State has won 35 of its last 47 games (.745) and those 35 wins are the third-most in the West behind Oregon (41) and Boise State (36).
• Utah State redshirt senior QB Chuckie Keeton has 58 career touchdown passes and is just two touchdown passes away from tying the school record of 60 set by Jose Fuentes (1998-2002). Keeton is also just five pass attempts away from tying Brent Snyder (1987-88) for third all-time in school history with 874 pass attempts.
• Utah State has won each of its last eight games against Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) schools dating back to the 2000 season when it lost at home to Idaho State, 27-24. All eight of those wins have been against Big Sky Conference opponents.
• Utah State has won eight of its last 11 games played during the month of September, including six straight at home, and is 0-4 all-time in games played on Sept. 3. This is the latest season opener for USU since 2011, when it began the year at Auburn also on Sept. 3.
• Utah State has 40 players in its program from the state of Utah, while Southern Utah has 46 players on its active roster from the Beehive State.
