KICKOFF COVERAGE
• Utah State (1-1) will host Arkansas State (0-2) on Friday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m., in a nationally televised game on CBS Sports Network. USU is 3-3 all-time against the Red Wolves, including a 3-0 home record. ASU won the last meeting between the two teams in Jonesboro, 21-14, in overtime in 2014 and USU won the last meeting between the two teams in Logan, 49-0, in 2003. All-time, USU is 57-30 (.655) against current members of the Sun Belt Conference.

• Utah State is beginning the 2016 season by playing three of its first four games at home, something that has not happened at USU since 1997. In fact, the 2016 season will mark just the second time since the early 1950s that USU will begin the season with three of its first four games at home. From 1901 to 1953, USU played three of its first four games at home 26 times.

• Utah State has won 24 of its last 27 home games, including 13 of its last 16 against non-conference competition.

• Under head coach Matt Wells, USU is 16-3 at home, including a 5-2 non-conference record. All-time, Utah State is 136-99 (.579) in Maverik Stadium.

• Utah State has won 10 of its last 16 games played during the month of September, including eight straight at home. The last time USU lost at Maverik Stadium during September was to Colorado State, 35-34, in 2011 in double-overtime. USU is 4-4-1 all-time in games played on Sept. 16.

• Utah State is 11-4 under coach Wells following a loss, and has lost back-to-back games just four times in the last five seasons.

• Utah State has 37 players on its roster from the state of Utah, while Arkansas State has 38 players on its roster from the Natural State.
