AGGIES EYEING MOUNTAIN DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
• Utah State is looking to repeat as Mountain Division Champions and advance to the Sports Authority Mountain West Championship game for the second straight year. To do so, USU needs to win at Boise State and Colorado State to lose at Air Force this weekend.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR AGAINST BOISE STATE
• Utah State ranks first in the Mountain West and 10th in the nation in scoring defense (18.3 ppg), while Boise State ranks first in the Mountain West and ninth in the nation in scoring offense (40.0 ppg).
• With a victory at Boise State, Utah State will record double-digit wins (10) for just the second time ever, joining the 2012 team (11-2) that won a school record 11 games. USU's nine wins are tied with the 1960, 1961 and 2013 teams for the second-most in school history.
• Utah State has won 13 of its last 14 conference road games and 14 of its last 23 road games overall. Under head coach Matt Wells, USU is 7-6 on the road, including a 6-1 Mountain West record.
• Utah State has won 11 of its last 12 Mountain West games and 24 of its last 26 league games dating back to 2011. All-time, USU is 13-2 (.867) in Mountain West play.
• Utah State has won a school-record 15 straight games in November and 19 of its last 21 November games dating back to 2009, including seven straight on the road. The last time USU lost a game in November was in 2010 at home to Idaho, 28-6, while its lost road loss in November was at Hawai'i, 49-36, in 2009.
• Utah State has won 34 of its last 45 games (.756) and those 11 losses have been by a combined 89 points (8.1 ppg). USU's 34 wins are the second-most in the West behind Oregon (39).
• Utah State's defense has forced 28 turnovers in its last 11 games, intercepted 35 passes in its last 22 games, and recorded a total of 75 turnovers in its last 35 games. USU has also scored four defensive touchdowns this season, which is tied for seventh in the nation, and seven defensive touchdowns in its last 20 games. Overall, USU's 28 forced turnovers this season is tied for fifth in the nation.
• Senior LB Zach Vigil ranks first in the Mountain West and ninth in the nation in tackles for loss (1.54 pg), second in the MW and eighth in the nation in tackles (11.1 pg), and tied for third in the MW and tied for 37th in the nation in sacks (0.67 pg). For his career, Vigil has 41.5 tackles for loss and needs 1.5 TFL's to tie the school record set by Jermaine Younger (1990-93).
