Aggie Marching Band Revives Sounds of the Stadium Concert

After a three-year hiatus, the Utah State University Aggie Marching Band will renew a longstanding tradition in the Sounds of the Stadium concert Saturday, Dec. 10. The concert is at 7:30 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center Ballroom on the USU campus and includes music from each of the 2016 halftime shows as well as traditional school songs and fan favorites.

“The performance will showcase the talents of the band in an indoor setting,” Lane Weaver, director of athletic bands in the Caine College of the Arts, said. “Selections include Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Livin’ on a Prayer by Bon Jovi and September by Earth, Wind, and Fire. The band will also use the occasion to honor student leaders and recognize accomplishments of outstanding members.”

The Sounds of the Stadium concert was an annual event for the Aggie Marching Band from 2000-2012. The band traditionally performs at all USU home football games, the USU Homecoming Parade, select away games and post-season bowl games. In addition to its marching band duties, nearly all band members also perform with at least one of USU’s other instrumental ensembles.
