Ag Products Barbecue to Cook Up Good Things Saturday

September 19, 2007 | The College of Agriculture at USU will host its annual Ag Products Barbecue Saturday [Sept. 22] in the practice field west of the Stan Laub Center.

 

The barbecue will go from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., just before the homecoming football game against San Jose State, which starts at 6:05.

 

The barbecue has been moved this year from its previous location because the university had trouble in the past getting everything cleared away before the fireworks were set up in the same place.

 

All of the meat for the barbecue will be donated and cooked by the region's commodity groups, and all of the proceeds will go to the College of Agriculture scholarship fund, said Lisa Allen, assistant to the associate dean.

 

Since parking is limited, Allen said the college hopes people will park in the stadium parking lot, where there will be a tractor and wagon to haul everyone from the Wellness Center to the barbecue.

Allen said the menu will include beef, turkey, pork, lamb, onion rings, corn on the cob, ice cream, cheese, salad and a variety of flavored milk. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children 5 to 11. Children under 5 are free.
