A-Pins Acknowledge Academic All-stars
Raymond T. Coward, provost and executive vice president, and the academic deans at Utah State University honored students’ academic success at the A-Pin Award Ceremony March 27 at the Haight Alumni Center.
The A-Pin is one of the oldest awards at Utah State, initiated in 1910. It acknowledges and rewards students who achieve a straight A grade point average while taking 15 graded credits. The pin features the primary icon of Utah State University — the Old Main Tower — and reads “USU Scholarship,” denoting the highest in scholarly achievement.
“These students have truly demonstrated work of superior quality,” said Joyce Kinkead, vice provost for undergraduate research and studies.
In an undergraduate student body of more than 17,000 students, only 75 are so honored in a typical semester, she said.
A number of family members and friends joined in the celebration at the Alumni Center.
