75 USU Student-Athletes Receive Academic All-WAC Honors This Spring

During the 2007-08 academic year, USU had 130 student-athletes receive academic honors from the WAC

The Western Athletic Conference announced its spring all-academic teams Wednesday, June 18, and Utah State University had 75 student-athletes recognized as 37 earned all-academic team honors, while 38 more were named to the academic all-freshmen/transfer team.
 
To be eligible for the spring academic team, a student-athlete must have completed one academic year, have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.
 
Leading the way for Utah State was senior Amy Egan (women's track and field), who earned academic all-conference honors for the fourth straight year. Egan, who will graduate from USU in the fall of 2008 with a degree in English, has a 3.75 cumulative GPA.
 
Utah State had several other student-athletes receive all-academic honors for the third straight year, including senior Michael Banks (men's tennis), senior Stacie Lifferth-Dorius (women's track and field) and junior Rebecca Bostwick (women's track and field).
During the 2007-08 academic year, Utah State had 130 student-athletes recognized by the league office for their academic achievements.
