700 North Closure on USU Campus Dec. 19-22

Utah State University Facilities will be closing 700 North to all vehicles on the USU campus, Tuesday, Dec. 19, through Friday, Dec. 22. The closure will allow facilities to begin testing a culinary water well on the south side of the Industrial Science building on campus. The south sidewalk along 700 North will be closed to pedestrian traffic during this time. The closure will only be in front of the Industrial Science building.

“The procedure is critical to the development of the well and is required by state law,” said Quin Whitaker, professional engineer and USU facilities project manager. “Great volumes of water will be pulled out of the well during testing and will need to be disposed of properly.”

 

Testing is weather-dependent and if bad weather or freezing temperatures are forecasted, testing may be postponed.
