About This Certificate
The Photonics Post-Baccalaureate Certificate provides essential skills for careers in optics and photonics.
The three required courses provide essential background and training. The eight elective courses cover a broad range of career directions.
Quantum mechanics and solid-state physics are essential to the design of photonic devices. Microwave circuits, antennas, and electromagnetics are key to wireless communication. Microfabrication is used to create photonic devices for all applications. In addition to the courses we provide, students are encouraged to take summer internships with our industrial partners.
