About This Degree
The Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Economics is aimed at students seeking an undergraduate degree focused on the efficient allocation of natural resources and amenities.
The natural resource economics major focuses on the application of economic principles to the efficient allocation of natural resources such as minerals, oil and natural gas, the management of public lands and pollution of public goods such as air and water.
With increasing competition for limited land, water and other natural resources in the U.S. and throughout the world, as well as growing concern about environmental degradation, there is a growing need for professionals who can assist in the process of balancing economic and environmental tradeoffs.
