About This Minor

Through coursework and immersive experiences, the marine science minor introduces students to marine ecosystems, marine biota, the chemical and physical properties of the ocean and the seafloor, and the conservation and management of marine resources.

The Department of Watershed Sciences offers the opportunity to work closely with world-class faculty in aquatic sciences. The Quinney College of Natural Resources has strengths in providing students with opportunities in experiential learning and funding.

Currently, this minor is restricted to students with majors in the Department of Watershed Sciences.

What You Will Learn

Students will learn marine biology and ecology; fish ecology, conservation, and management; and the opportunity to participate in fieldwork and research.
