Are you passionate about creating positive change for our planet? Dive into the world of environmental advocacy with our cutting-edge certificate program.

Environmental advocacy is key to motivating citizen engagement to address the wide array of environmental issues with which the world is currently grappling. Students will develop a deep understanding of contemporary social movements, environmental issues, and the role of technology while building interdisciplinary connections, engaging with local organizations, and preparing for diverse career opportunities.

This certificate is open to any undergraduate student at USU.

What You Will Learn

  • Increased understanding of different types of organizations and the tactics they utilize for addressing social issues in local, national, and international contexts
  • Awareness of the role of organizations, activism, and protest in creating social change
  • Comprehension of the ways in which technology has impacted contemporary social movements
  • Increased knowledge of contemporary environmental issues
  • Understanding of the activies, legal and political contexts, organizational structures, challenges, and opportunities of working with non-profit organizations in support of environmental goals
