About This Degree
Criminal Justice offers students a wide variety of career paths in such areas as law enforcement, courts, criminalistics (crime labs and investigations), law, juvenile law and corrections.
The degree requires students have a substantial understanding of the criminal justice system in general. It reflects the realities and concerns of society and draws from a wide variety of academic disciplines such as political science, psychology, history and sociology.
The Criminal Justice program is not within its own department but is a part of the Sociology, Social Work and Anthropology department.

Admission
Program Requirements
USU Eastern is an open admission campus and only requires that a new student have a high school diploma or GED.
The AS degree requires completion of the four core courses and three CJ electives for a total of 21 credit hours. These are in conjunction with the normal general education requirements of USU for a total of 60 credit hours.
Students are also held to the minimal GPA require for graduation set by USU.
