About This Degree
Students enrolled in the Animal and Dairy Science degree program will learn about all disciplines within the animal production industry, current scientific applications associated with animal science, and how cutting-edge advancements in biotechnology can be used to improve the field of animal science.
Students in this program will not only be exposed to multiple disciplines in the classroom, but will also have hands-on learning opportunities in the fields of animal nutrition, reproduction and physiology, breeding and genetics, livestock production management, and animal biotechnology through visiting the USU farm facilities and partnerships with local and regional producers.
The Animal and Dairy Science program offers students experiences working with beef cattle, dairy cattle, horses, sheep, goats, and pigs.

The Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences department is committed to helping students reach their academic and future professional goals. The department has access to livestock, production facilities, and research equipment and expertise that can help students further their academic training related to animal health, reproduction, molecular genetics, growth and development, virology, livestock production management, and nutrition.
Students will gain experience in these fields working alongside professors who specialize in these areas, enhancing their academic experience and future professional opportunities.
