About This Certificate

The AI Ethics Certificate encourages students to raise hard questions about the influence of artificial intelligence in our politics, our culture, and our lives.

The certificate can add value to any students’ degree in technology, and also help all students think through AI-related questions that have become urgent in our lives.

What You Will Learn

Students will learn how questions regarding AI connect with other moral questions, as well as how various powerful moral theories regard the challenges posed by AI. They will also gain a thorough understanding of the ways in which data is gathered and employed by AI-augmented systems. The program is housed in the Department of History, Cultures, and Ideas, but it is also supported by the Department of Data Analytics + Information Systems.
